Mental Health First Aid

BLENDED COURSE

Short on time but still interested in becoming an Accredited Mental Health First Aider? Then look no further!

This program starts with a 5-7 hour self-directed online program (which you complete at your own pace) followed by 2 x 2.5 hour zoom sessions.

This blended program teaches you how to assist adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

The course is for any interested adult. Suitable for adults in workplaces, schools, and community settings to support other adults.

You will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

At the end of the training, you complete a short test to test your newly learnt knowledge and voila!….you are officially an Accredited Mental Health First Aider (for the next 3 years).

What People said about this course

@Jeffrey

I feel more confident in responding to mental health problems that occur at school with students, parents, volunteers and staff.

@Layla

As awareness of mental health increases its great to be able to do a course like this that dispels many myths and better equips us to be able to respond better.

@Alfian

This was one of the most interesting, engaging and informative courses I have ever completed.

What the course covers:

Learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

This is an education course, to learn how to give first aid to others, and is not a therapy or support group.
